The standard applies to the representation of DIN Standards that are also classified as VDE specifications or VDE-Guidelines, and to the presentation of VDE prestandards concerning safety requirements in the field of electrical engineering, electronics and information technology. It also applies to supplements by analogy. DIN 820-11 shall be used together with DIN 820-2, DIN 820-12, DIN 820-13 and DIN 820-15. DIN 820-11 has been prepared by Working Committee NA 173-00-02 AA "Gestaltung von Normen" ("Presentation of standards") at the Principles of Standardization Standards Committee (NAGLN) at DIN e. V., in collaboration with the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
