Overview

Special components such as round eye plates and oblong eye plates are necessary for towing and lashing; they are also partially necessary for lifting of loads onboard seagoing ships. Further standardized associated components are forks, turnbuckles, load hooks, double hooks, shackles and tow chains. DIN 82003-1 documents, in an overview, the type and size selection which facilitates the procurement of spare parts and also stockkeeping. The components with the corresponding nominal sizes and the respective load in kN are listed in several tables. DIN 82003-1 only represents an overview. Details like construction and dimensions of the components shall be taken from the respective standards.
