Overview

This standard substantiates the specifications and information given in DIN ISO 6042 for weathertight heavy ship doors. It supplements these with those necessary for equipment and installation and forms the basis for the manufacture of these doors from steel according to DIN 83100-3, aluminum according to DIN 83100-4 (currently in preparation) and fiber composites (this standard is still in the planning stage). The specifications made apply only to ship doors with round frames; the doors with square frames additionally standardized in DIN ISO 6042 are not considered further, as these doors are not used in Germany.
