Overview
The standards of the series DIN 85005 lay down the designation, shape and meaning of graphical symbols in the technical documentation for scheme-drawings and plans such as general sketches and similar abstract descriptions for seagoing vessels, inland vessels, vessels of the Deutsche Marine (German Navy), national authorities as well as for offshore-units. The graphical symbols as given in DIN 85005-18 may be applied for combinations with the other graphical symbols as given in the series DIN 85005. Following ISO 1964:1997, "Shipbuilding; Indication of details on the general arrangement plans of ships" and DIN 80002-2 "Ships and marine technology - General arrangement plans for ships - Part 2: Graphical symbols", terms and graphical symbols have been designed. DIN 85005-18 lays down shape and meaning of graphical symbols for sanitary installations. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 132-05-02 AA "Graphische Symbole" ("Graphical symbols").
