This document establishes general rules for writing factual texts in plain language in German. These rules are based on the general principles in DIN ISO 24495-1. These principles form the framework for plain language and are formulated in a manner neutral to language and culture. The target audience for plain language is explicitly not readers with cognitive impairments. Insofar principles and rules for easy language are not part of this standard. The general recommendations from DIN ISO 24495-1 are specified in this document for the German language, in some cases elevated to requirements and supplemented by relevant additional specifications. Working Group NA 105-00-07-02 AK "Einfache Sprache" ("Plain Language") at DIN Standards Committee Terminology (NAT) is responsible.
