This standard applies to steel pipework and fittings with spigot and socket in pipelines on ships and marine structures as well as for their installation and assembly. This standard applies in conjunction with DIN EN 1123-2 and DIN 1124-3 to steel pipework, pipes and fittings with spigot and socket in pipelines used on ships and on fixed or floating marine structures (offshore), in particular for discharge pipes in drainage systems. Use in other pipelines is only possible with the approval or consent of the responsible supervisory authorities. This standard is also used for the planning and construction of pipelines. Information on installation and assembly (for example, pipe supports, fixed points, installation aids, and etcetera) is also documented. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 132-02-04 AA "Wasserversorgung und -entsorgung" ("Potable water and drainage systems") at DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT).
