Overview

This standard defines dimensions, technical delivery conditions and the designation of studs with a thread length at the metal end of approximately 2,5d of product grade A for coarse thread from M4 to M24 and fine pitch thread from M8×1 to M24×2. Studs according to this standard are primarily used for screwing into aluminium alloys. In comparison with the previous standard, the Scope has been specified more precisely and the technical delivery conditions have been updated. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 067-00-02 AA "Verbindungselemente mit metrischem Außengewinde" ("Fasteners with metric external threads") of the Fasteners Standards Committee (FMV).
