Overview

The measurement method described in the standard serves for the determination of surface roughness parameters of metallic flat products. The revision of DIN EN 10049:2006-02 has become necessary to allow optical roughness measurement systems in addition to profile methods. The corresponding supplements have been carried out in particular in clauses 3 and 4. The standard defines the conditions for roughness measurement for two product groups.
