DIN EN 10088-2:2014-12

Compared to the previous edition of this standard, the concept of EN 10088-1 to -3 has been maintained with the upcoming third edition: Part 1 contains the list of stainless steels, Part 2 contains the delivery conditions for stainless steel flat products for general purposes and Part 3 contains the delivery conditions for long products for general purposes. The revision had become necessary primarily with regard to the raw material costs which were significantly increased in the past and the associated desire for introduction of new steel grades that allow both the use of cost-effective alloy elements as well as the technical progress of the current steels. The newly introduced steel grades are part of the groups of the austenitic, austenitic-ferritic and ferritic steels. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 021-00-06-01 UA "Nichtrostende Stähle" ("Stainless steels") at DIN.
