DIN EN 10169:2012-06

The organic coated steel flat products described in the scope of the European Standard EN 10169 are widely used in many industries, such as in building construction, the automotive industry, domestic appliances and building and air conditioning technologies. The amendment document has been prepared by the European standardization committee ECISS/TC 109 "Coated and uncoated flat products to be used for cold forming". Within the framework of the revision, the terms for "nominal organic coating thickness", "priming coat" or "coating flexibility" have been newly defined, amongst others, information on tests, such as "pencil hardness test" and "Buchholz indentation test" have been supplemented and the list with the recommended outdoor exposure sites has been expanded. The responsible German standardization committee is Subcommittee 01/3 "Kontinuierlich organisch beschichtete (bandbeschichtete) Flacherzeugnisse aus Stahl" ("Continuously organic coated (coil coated) steel flat products") of the Iron and Steel Standards Committee (FES).
