Overview
The standards contain requirements for the mass, quality and testing of non-ferrous metal coatings (Part 1) or zinc or zinc alloys (Part 2) on steel wire and steel wire products of circular or other cross-section. Part 1 also deals with requirements of general application and is of use for those coatings for which no particular requirements have been laid down in EN 10244-2 to EN 10244-6. The revisions of the European standards EN 10244-1:2001 and EN 10244-2:2001 have been prepared by ECISS/TC 30 "Steel wire", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German mirror committee is Working Committee NA 099-00-01 AA "Stahldraht" ("Steel wire") at NAD.
