Overview

This European Standard applies exclusively to lifting plants for faecal-free wastewater for drainage of locations below flood level in buildings and sites to prevent any backflow of wastewater into the building. This standard specifies general requirements, basic construction and testing principles, together with information on materials and assessment and verification of constancy of performance. This European Standard does not apply for pumping installations for drain and sewer systems outside buildings for pumping of municipal wastewater. This Standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 119-05-23 AA "Abwasserhebeanlagen (CEN/TC 165/WG 21/TG 4)" ("Wastewater lifting plants") at DIN Standards Committee Water Practice (NAW).
