This standard specifies requirements and test methods for toe caps and penetration resistant inserts used in professional footwear (for instance as described in DIN EN ISO 20345 to DIN EN ISO 20347). The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 161 "Foot and leg protectors" with the substantial participation of German experts. On the national level the responsible Working Committee is NA 075-04-01 AA of NPS of the same name.
