DIN EN 131-1:2011-09

This European Standard defines terms and specifies the general design characteristics of ladders. The standard applies to portable ladders. It does not apply to step stools and ladders designed for specific professional use such as fire brigade ladders, roof ladders and mobile ladders. With respect to DIN EN 131-1:2007-08, Amendment A1:2011 has been incorporated and by doing so, Figure 5 has been corrected to rope-operated extending ladders. Furthermore it has been specified that for extending ladders the maximum dimension of 45 mm for the horizontal distance of two parallel parts of the ladder after the locking devices are in the use position is only relevant when the upper section slides over the lower section. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-04-20 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 93 Leitern" ("Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 93 Ladders") at DIN.
