This European Standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for soft carriers without a framed support. These carriers are designed to transport a child while attached to the adult's upper body. These carriers are designed to allow the adult hands free operation when standing and/or walking. These soft carriers are for use up to a maximum weight of 15 kg. If the soft carrier has functions not covered in this European Standard, reference should be made to the relevant European Standard. As a test standard it is aimed primarily at test institutes and deals in particular with aspects of product safety. The European Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 252 "Child use and care articles", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. The responsible national mirror committee is Working Committee NA 095-05-03 AA "Artikel für Säuglinge und Kleinkinder - Sitzen, Pflegen, Schützen, Liegen und Transportieren" ("Child use and care articles - Sitting, caring, protecting, laying and transporting") of NASG.
