Overview

This European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 218/WG 1 "Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies for industrial, chemical and petrochemical applications" (secretariat: Germany). The responsible national Mirror Committee is Working Committee NA 104-02-01 AA "Schlauchleitungen" ("Hose assemblies") at NATank. This European Standard specifies requirements for two types of hose and hose assembly identified by the maximum working pressures and main use, that is, Type 1 is for road and rail tanker use and Type 2 is for dockside use. The types can be further divided into two classes related to the maximum temperature of the product to be conveyed. The hose constructions may be smooth bore or rough bore.
