This European Standard specifies methods for assessing the tin coating on drawn round copper wire for the manufacture of electrical conductors, for example, according to EN 13602. The standard includes test methods for the determination of the following characteristics: a) thickness of the unalloyed tin coating; b) continuity of the tin coating; c) adherence of the tin coating. This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 133 "Copper and copper alloys" (secretariat: DIN, Germany) of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). Regarding the German collaboration, the responsible committee is Working Committee NA 066-02-04 AA "Strangpress- und Zieherzeugnisse" ("Extruded and drawn products") of the Non-ferrous Metals Standards Committee (FNNE).
