Overview
This European Standard specifies the requirements for parameters of the physical layer and the link layer for systems intended for remote reading of meters using radio. The primary focus is to use the Short Range Devices (SRD) in unlicensed frequency bands. This standard encompasses systems for walk-by, drive-by and fixed installations. As a broad definition, it can be applied to various application layers. This document (EN 13757-4:2013) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 294 "Communication systems for meters", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. At DIN e. V., the German Institute for Standardisation, the responsible body was the Heating and Ventilation Technology and their Safety Standards Committee (NHRS), Working Committee NA 041-03-66 AA "Kommunikationssysteme für Zähler (SpA CEN/TC 294)" ("Communication systems for meters (mirror committee CEN/TC 294)").
