Overview

This standard specifies the design of a reference raingauge pit. For convenience purposes the specified details for the pit and the grating are not that extensive to allow latitude for all raingauge users during construction in accordance with the local conditions. This standard is the German version of the European standard which has been prepared by CEN/TC 318 "Hydrometry". Regarding the German collaboration Working Committee NA 119-06-10 AA of the same name of NAW has been involved in the preparation of the standard which has been funded by Länderfinanzierungsprogramm "Wasser, Boden und Abfall" (federal funding programme "Water, soil and waste").
