This European Standard specifies the design, materials and dimensions of clamp type coupling assemblies for use with steam and hot water hoses DN 15 to DN 50 designed for pressures of up to 18 bar (corresponding to a saturated steam temperature of 210 °C). This European Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 "Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (Great Britain). Regarding the German collaboration Working Committee NA 082-00-02 AA "Schlauchkupplungen" ("Hose couplings") at the Piping and Boiler Plant Standards Committee (NARD) is responsible.
