DIN EN 14620-1:2024-09

This document is a specification for vertical, cylindrical tank systems, built on site, above ground and of which either the primary liquid container or the liquid tight barrier is made of steel. The secondary liquid container, if applicable, can be of steel or of concrete or a combination of both. A primary liquid container made of pre-stressed concrete is excluded from the scope of this document. This standard differs from DIN EN 14620-1:2006-12 as follows: a) standard boundaries have been defined in the Scope, and applicability has been extended to -196 °C; b) the description of various tank system concepts has been updated; c) a new clause on marking and documentation has been added; d) a new informative annex with recommendations for geotechnical investigations and the seismic hazard evaluation has been added. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 265 "Metallic tanks for the storage of liquids", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 104-01-05 AA "Oberirdische Flachboten-Tankbauwerke" ("Above ground flatbottomed tanks") at DIN Standards Committee Tank Installations (NATank).
