DIN EN 14844:2012-02

The new edition of DIN EN 14844 has become necessary due to the amendment of EN 14844:2009-06 which deals with both large (structural) and small (non-structural or light structural) box culverts of rectangular cross-section formed monolithically and designed as continuous elements with a joint detail shaped to allow the possible incorporation of sealing materials. Box culverts can be used for creation of voids below ground for conveyance and storage of materials, for example, conveyance and storage of wastewater, cable tunnels and subways. The amendment concerns the scope. This has been rendered more precise relating to the definition of small or large box culverts. The normative references have been supplemented to include the reference to EN 206-1. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-07-08 AA "Betonfertigteile (SpA zu CEN/TC 229)" ("Precast concrete products (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 229)") at DIN.
