Overview
This European Standard DIN EN 14908-3 is part of a series of standards dealing with the communication system Control Network Protocol (CNP) which is based on LonWorks technology. This standard series specifies both the hardware and software which are necessary for the operation of the communication system. There will be other parts which describe the functions, profiles and conformity tests. This European Standard specifies all the information necessary to facilitate the exchange of data and control information over the power line medium for networked control systems in commercial Building Automation, Controls and Building Management. The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 041-03-68 AA "Gebäudeautomation und -kommunikation (SpA CEN/TC 247/WG 4)" ("Building automation and communication (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 247/WG 4)") of the Heating and Ventilation Technology Standards Committee (NHRS) at DIN.
