This standard specifies requirements, test methods, marking and information supplied by the manufacturer for rescue lifting devices. Rescue lifting devices conforming to this standard are used as components of rescue systems. Rescue lifting devices in accordance with this standard may be combined with other components, such as descender devices for rescue (EN 341) or retractable type fall arresters (EN 360). This standard deals in particular with aspects of occupational health and safety and product safety. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 075-03-01 AA "Persönliche Schutzausrüstung gegen Absturz" ("Personal fall protection equipment") at DIN.
