This standard defines a method for the performance assessment of building-integrated cogeneration units by the calculation of the electricity production, useful heat output and recoverable losses. Such units are commonly known as micro or small scale cogeneration, or micro or small scale CHP. This standard deals with heat generators for heating or for combined domestic hot water and heating services. The calculation is based on the performance characteristics of the units, defined in product standards, and on operation conditions such the needed heat output. This document is the result of the revision of EN 15316-4-4:2007. This document (EN 15316-4-4:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 228 "Heating systems in buildings" (secretariat: DIN, Germany). Working Committee NA 041-05-01 AA "Energetische Bewertung heiz- und raumluft-technischer Anlagen" (SpA ISO/TC 205 "Umweltgerechte Gebäudeplanung") ("Energy performance of heating and ventilation systems in buildings (Mirror Committee of ISO/TC 205 "Building environment design")") at DIN Standards Committee Heating and Ventilation Technology and their Safety (NHRS) of the German Institute for Standardization e. V. is responsible for the German version. In Germany, the Directive on the energy performance of buildings (2010/31/EU) of the European Parliament and the European Council is primarily implemented by national energy conservation law. National energy conservation law refers to dated national and European standards and national prestandards that have been specified to be implemented in Germany. On the basis of the dated references, only the editions of these technical rules addressed in this manner are used. If the dated technical rules to be used under energy conservation legislation refer to undated technical rules, the latter shall be used in the version that corresponds to the status at the time of publication of the dated technical rule.
This document replaces DIN EN 15316-4-4:2007-10 .
