The standard specifies a method for determining the creep deformation of bonded specimens loaded in bending shear. The method is intended for assessing the suitability and quality of polyurethane adhesives for load-bearing timber structures under certain climate conditions. This method is not intended to provide numerical design data and does not necessarily represent the performance of the bonded member in service. It is not applicable for assessing the suitability of adhesives for the manufacture of wood-based panels. With respect to DIN EN 15416-3:2008-03 the thin bondline to be tested (0,1 mm) has been replaced by a bondline having a thickness of 0,3 mm. The standard contains a description of the method for the preparation of samples with thicker bondlines. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 193 "Adhesives", the secretariat of which is held by AENOR (Spain). The responsible National Committee is Working Committee NA 042-04-05 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Holzklebung" ("Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Wood bonding").
