This European Standard specifies the properties of unalloyed and low-alloyed grey cast irons used for castings, which have been manufactured in sand moulds or in moulds with comparable thermal behaviour. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 190 "Foundry technology", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany). Working Committee is NA 036-00-01 AA "Gusseisenwerkstoffe" ("Cast iron materials") at DIN Standards Committees Foundry Practice (GINA) is responsible for the German collaboration.
