Overview

This European Standard is applicable to empty-loaded changeover devices designed to automatically sense when the load of a railway vehicle reaches a defined value. This European Standard is also applicable to manually operated empty-loaded changeover devices and the associated changeover plates. This European Standard specifies the requirements for the design, dimensions, manufacture and testing of empty-loaded changeover devices. Amendment A1, which has been incorporated into this standard, is intended to adapt the new Directive 2008/57/EC on interoperability to the body of standards.
