This European Standard specifies the characteristics and the conditions for use of showcases for safe and secure display of cultural heritage objects, reducing environmental interaction and complying with the requirements for better preservation. The responsible German body involved in its preparation is Working Committee NA 005-01-36 AA "Erhaltung des kulturellen Erbes (SpA zu CEN/TC 346)" ("Conservation of cultural heritage (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 346)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
