Overview
This standard specifies the mounting and fixing of components in the test apparatus to thermal attack by a single burning item (SBI test) in accordance with DIN EN 13823. It applies to plastics pipes and fittings and their joints for use inside buildings and intended for soil and waste discharge. The standard addresses the manufacturers, test facilities and users of thermoplastics pipes and fittings. In particular, it contains aspects of quality and product safety. This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastic piping systems and ducting systems", the secretariat of which is held by NEN (Netherlands). The Committee responsible for DIN EN 16000 is Working Committee NA 054-05-02 AA "Prüfverfahren für Rohre" ("Test methods for pipes") at DIN.
