Overview

The standard specifies a gravimetric procedure for determining the non-volatile matter content (often referred to as percentage by mass of dry solid or weight solids) of the majority of thermally cured coil coatings and for subsequent determination of the theoretical spreading rate. The method is not suitable for pure epoxy coil coatings. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 002-00-07 AA "Allgemeine Prüfverfahren für Beschichtungsstoffe und Beschichtungen" ("General test methods for coating materials and coatings") at DIN.
