DIN EN 16712-3:2015-12

The European Standard is based on DIN 14366 "Portable foam branch pipes" and was proposed by Germany as a European Standard. Foam branch pipes are used to foam water-foaming agent mixtures and to release foam on fires or in case of fire hazard. This European Standard does not contain requirements specifying the type of coupling to be connected to hoses as no European Standard dealing with the connection of fire fighting hoses currently exists. Orders for couplings are thus subject to individual agreement between parties. To ensure the compatibility of all components of water systems in Germany, connection of a DN 20 pick-up tube to the DIN 14301 - D delivery and suction coupling has been agreed in the National Foreword. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 192 "Fire service equipment" (secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom) and on the national level the responsible Working Committee is NA 031-04-04 AA "Schläuche und Armaturen - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 1 und WG 8" ("Hoses and armatures - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 1 and WG 8") of FNFW.
