Overview
This European standard specifies gas quality characteristics, parameters and their limits, for gases classified as group H that are to be transmitted, injected into and from storages, distributed and utilized. With respect to the standard draft a Wobbe Index is no longer included since it cannot be harmonized on a European level; Informative Annex D of the standard contains the rationale. For potential subsequent editions the introduction of the Wobbe index range as calometric leading indicator. This first edition of the standard therefore specifies predominantly the content of certain gas components. Specific requirements for biomethane are not contained since they are incorporated in EN 16723-1 which has been prepared by CEN/TC 408.
