Overview
This European Standard specifies a material designation system for magnesium and magnesium alloys either by numbers or by symbols for castings including anodes and ingots intended for remelting. The materials for aerospace applications referred to in the European Standards prepared by AECMA (Association Européenne des Constructeurs de Matériel Aérospatial) have different designations. This European Standard (EN 1754:2015) has been prepared by CEN/TC 190 "Foundry technology", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany). Regarding the German collaboration the responsible Working Committee is NA 036-00-04 AA "Geometrische Produktspezifikation und Technische Lieferbedingungen" ("Geometrical product specifications and technical conditions of delivery") of DIN Standards Committee Foundry Practice (GINA).
