DIN EN 17745:2025-11

This standard contains safety requirements. This standard defines relevant requirements set out in Annex I of EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the European Economic Area (EEA) market for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with these requirements. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a "harmonized" standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive ("presumption of conformity"). This document specifies general design and functional requirements and their test methods for granule spreaders with regard to reducing the potential risk of environmental pollution during their use. This document covers all significant hazards to the environment associated with granule spreaders. This document does not deal with safety requirements for protection of the operator only. General safety requirements are covered by EN ISO 4254-1:2015 and EN ISO 4254-1:2015/A1:2021. This document is not applicable to granule applicators manufactured before the date of its publication. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 144 "Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-16-02 AA "Bodenbearbeitung, Saat, Pflanzenpflege und Pflanzenschutz" ("Soil cultivation, seeds, plant care and plant protection") of Technical Section "Landtechnik" ("Agricultural engineering") at DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of the interested parties were involved in the preparation of this standard.
