Overview
This document provides rules for structural design of stiffened and unstiffened nominally flat plates which are subject to in-plane forces. Non-uniform stress distributions due to shear lag, in-plane load introduction and plate buckling are covered. The effects of out-of-plane loading are outside the scope of this document. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 005-08-16 AA "Tragwerksbemessung (SpA zu CEN/TC 250/SC 3, ISO/TC 167/SC 1)" ("Design of structures (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 250/SC 3, ISO/TC 167/SC 1)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
