Overview
This document specifies requirements and test methods for straight lengths of factory made thermally insulated bonded single pipe assemblies for hot water networks in accordance with EN 13941-1, comprising a steel service pipe, polyurethane foam thermal insulation and a casing of polyethylene. The pipe assembly can also include the following additional elements: measuring wires, spacers and diffusion barriers. This document (EN 253:2019+A1:2023) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 107 "Preinsulated district heating pipe systems - Design and installation", the secretariat of which is held by Denmark (DS). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 041-01-12 AA "Fernwärme- und Fernkälteverteilsysteme (SpA CEN/TC 107 & ISO/TC 341)" ("District heating and cooling systems (SpA CEN/TC 107 & ISO/TC 341)") at DIN Standards Committee Heating and Ventilation Technology and their Safety (NHRS).
