DIN EN 3155-083:2016-01

The standards of the EN 3155 series describe electrical contacts for use in aerospace connectors. Part 083 defines the requirements, tests and tools for female electrical contacts, type A, crimp, class S, size 8 for use in connectors according to EN 3155-002. It replaces the previous product standard EN 3155-066 and shall be used together with EN 3155-001. The associated male contacts are defined in EN 3155-065. The herein specified female contact shall be intermateable and compatible with the interface dimensions of the standard EN 3155-065. The following changes have been made compared to the replaced standard DIN EN 3155-066:2014-04: a) the normative references have been partially amended or supplemented; b) Figure 1 has been revised and places for affixing the manufacturer's marking have been marked; c) the mass specifications in Table 1 have been increased; d) in Table 4 references have been included for tools M22520/23-01 and additional columns for manual tools have also been included; e) in Table 5 information has been included for the insertion tools and for the extraction tools for unwired contacts; f) in Table 7 the temperature information was exchanged for the test according to EN 2591-305, and additional notes have been included for the tests according to EN 2591-402 and EN 2591-403 as well as for EN 2591-415 and EN 2591-509; g) the delivery code has been omitted in the identification block. The standards of the EN 3155 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
