DIN EN 388:2017-01

This standard serves as the basis for placing protective gloves against mechanical risks on the market under Directive 89/686/EEC for personal protective equipment. This is intended to establish a uniform level of safety. Possible users of this standard are testing institutes, certification bodies and manufacturers. This standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association and supports essential requirements of EU Directives. This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 162 "Protective clothing including hand and arm protection and lifejackets", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. The responsible German standards committee is Working Committee NA 075-05-08 AA "Handschutz" ("Protective gloves") at Standards Committee Personal Protective Equipment (NPS) at DIN.
