DIN EN 4165-018:2015-09

The EN 4165 standard series describes modular rectangular electrical connectors for an operating temperature of 175 °C continuous, for aerospace applications. The new edition of Part 018 defines the protective cover for all receptacles series 2 used in the family of rectangular electrical connectors. The connector accessory bodies corresponding to those protective covers are defined in EN 4165-004, EN 4165-011 and EN 4165-025. With respect the previous edition DIN EN 4165-018:2008-11, the following modifications have been made: a) in the scope, series 3 has been omitted, but it was extended to all receptacles series 2 and thus also to the connectors for single modules; b) Figure 3 for the protective cover for single module has been added; c) the maximum dimensions for the protective covers have been specified in Clause 5 and the figures have been editorially revised; d) in Table 1, the class M for protective covers made of composite has been included; e) In Clause 6, the identification block in example 1 for protective covers for connectors with 2 or 4 modules has been expanded and a new example 2 for an identification block for protective covers for connectors with one module has been added. The standards of the EN 4165 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
