This European Standard specifies the characteristics of hexagonal nuts, self-locking by plastic ring, normal height, normal across flats, in corrosion resisting steel, passivated. Classification: 900 MPa/120 °C. The EN 4297 standard has been prepared by the standardization organization ASD-STAN of the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD), with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-03-01 AA "Verbindungselemente (Spiegelausschuss zu ISO/TC 20/SC 4" ("Aerospace fasteners (mirror committee to ISO/TC 20/SC 4)") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
