Overview
This Part of EN 438 gives an overview of the standard, and provides guidance in the selection and application of test methods and specifications contained in Parts 2 to 9 of EN 438. This standard is applicable to high-pressure decorative laminate(s) (HPL) produced by using a high pressure process. Typical values for the high pressure process are a temperature of ≥ 120 °C and a pressure of ≥ 5 MPa. The responsible committee for this standard is NA 054-04-01 AA "Dekorative Schichtstoffe und Mineralwerkstoffe" ("Decorative laminates and solid surfacing materials") at DIN.
