The EN 4611 standard series describes requirements for single- and multicore assembly cables of the XLETFE family for general use in the on-board electrical systems of aircraft. Part 004 specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable, tin plated copper conductor, electrical cables XLETFE family for use in the onboard electrical systems of aircraft at operating temperatures between -65 °C and 135 °C, operating at voltages not exceeding 600 V r.m.s and frequencies not exceeding 2 000 Hz. These cables are suitable for airframe use without additional protection. In case of conflict between this standard and other referenced documents the requirements of this standard take precedence. The standards of the EN 4611 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
