DIN EN 4644-001:2012-08

The EN 4644 standard series describes modular rectangular electrical and optical connectors with rectangular inserts, operating temperature 175 °C (or 125 °C) continuous. The connectors described in this standard are suitable for use on board commercial and military aircraft for panel and rack application under rough environmental conditions. Part 001 specifies the required characteristics, the condition for qualification, acceptance and quality assurance for electrical and optical rectangular connectors with single or multiple removable rectangular inserts for use in a temperature range from -65 °C to 175 °C continuous for electrical contact. This family of connectors is particularly suitable for aeronautic use in zones of severe environmental conditions on board aircraft, applying EN 2282. The standards of the DIN 4644 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
