Overview
This standard applies to distribution and trunk cables for use in cabled distribution systems operating at temperatures between -40 °C and +70 °C and at frequencies between 5 MHz and 1 000 MHz. The standard is intended to specify the relevant test methods and requirements for electrical and mechanical characteristics of indoor drop cables, and environmental performance and fire performance of the cables. The responsible body is DKE/UK 412.3 "Koaxialkabel - und leitungen" ("Coaxial cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
