Overview

This standard describes the simulation and/or testing requirements for protective measures against transient overvoltages at these operating resources. It does not cover prolonged overvoltages. The standard is applied to fixed installations (from the secondary winding of the substation transformer) and vehicle equipment connected to the overhead contact line of one of the systems defined in EN 50163, as well as to vehicle equipment connected to a train power supply line. The responsible committee is DKE/K 351 "Elektrische Ausrüstungen für Bahnen" ("Electrical applications for railways") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

Replacement amendments

This document replaces DIN EN 50124-2 Berichtigung 1:2010-11; VDE 0115-107-2 Berichtigung 1:2010-11 , DIN EN 50124-2:2001-10; VDE 0115-107-2:2001-10 .
