Overview
This European Standard is applicable for safety-relevant electronic systems which use a transmission system for digital communication purposes which has not been necessarily designed for safety-relevant applications and which - remains under the control of the designer and does not change during the life cycle, or - which is partly unknown and also does not remain constant, for which unauthorized access can be excluded, however, or - which is not under control of the designer and where unauthorized access shall also be considered. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 351.3 "Bahn-Signalanlagen" ("Signalling systems for railways") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
