Overview
The DIN EN 50193 (VDE 0705-193) series of standards applies to electric instantaneous water heaters for domestic use and similar purposes which together have the following characteristics: - fulfill at least one of the load profiles listed in Annex A; - for heating below the boiling point. This Part 2-1 applies to electrical instantaneous water heaters designed to operate as multifunctional appliances with electric rated power > 2 kW and specifies tests for the assessment of the performance. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 513.3 "Wassererwärmer" ("Water heaters") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
