Overview

This standard applies to conversion adapters, colloquially called adapters, for industrial purposes and applications. These adapters consist of a housing and establish the connection between industrial socket 2P + PE 16 A - 6h/250 V ∼ and one or two household plugs. Adapters are only intended for temporary use. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 542.4 "Industriesteckvorrichtungen" ("Industrial plugs and sockets") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
