Overview
This standard specifies the test requirements for PP compounds and the physical properties of the granule to be used for multi-element metallic data cables for indoor application. Significant modifications with regard to the previous edition of this standard are the inclusion of health, safety and environmental requirements as well as the subdivision of tests on the granule and on cable insulation. The temperature on the cable for Cell-PP has been increased from 70 °C to 90 °C. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Components for communication cabling systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
